No.
so you dont think dark shikari would be a good forum mod?
Rule #1 for forum mods: You should know the rules and not break them. Forum *snip* bend and break those rules a lot, as I'm sure you are aware of. That's the main reason why a "forum *snip*" can't get in. Secondly, DS's posting time would decrease and people would start getting worried.

Also, to become a moderator, one mustn't have any bans; this makes it completely impossible for anyone who frequently post on the forums to become a moderator, as the forum warning/ban system is designed specifically to penalize people who post more often, while benefiting people who troll and break the rules.
Example:
Forum hoe breaks a rule every 1000 posts. After 10,000 posts, he's banned forever. He probably had fewer bans per post than anyone else on all of EVE-O, but that doesn't matter; he's gone.
Troll posts a whole bunch of insults, flames, and outright attacks. He gets a warning or two, and moves to a new alt. No loss. I have seen quite a number of blatant trolls on the forum; often if you see a trolling thread, you can look at his last 15 posts and see that nearly all of them are insults or the like. However, since he doesn't post that much, its unlikely a moderator will ever notice these posts. I've seen people get away with telling people they would kill them IRL, massive sprees of curse words, and so on, without ever getting their posts even edited.
But if I even got remotely close to even touching the border of a rule, I'd get banned. And as I browse the forums I see boatloads of attacks and smacktalk that is far worse than what I've gotten warnings for in the past, yet never gets edited. I look back at it later, even after a mod cleans the thread, and its still not edited. I once got a warning for telling someone (without any insults) that there were too many whines about server lag on the forums and that they should try to be more constructive. I'm completely serious.
I don't fault the mods. The system is flawed, not its execution.
Wrangler told me he would fix this. Its been over a year. And I'm still waiting.
I hope that whoever joins the mod team in this recruitment drive attempts to counter the systemic bias of the current moderation system. That means tempbanning obvious trolls and flame-only characters on sight and judging the more prolific forum posters by their overall posting habits, not on a single post which may have crossed the line by a few angstroms.
P.S. I guess this is discussing moderation, but it is a reasonable discussion.

any respectable forum ***** will have reached 5 warnings, so no. It is better to be a lurker and make the few occasional post than post a lot.
Not true, we have and have had some big posters. If you'd ever find out, which you wont, you'd be very surprised.
Oh its quite possible to find out... people do talk . 'tis just somewhat difficult
